I’m Michael Donovan, a performance fitness coach, PhD physiologist, and someone who’s deeply passionate about living life to its fullest—both physically and mentally. For over 20 years, I’ve dedicated myself to understanding the science of the human body, and today, I use that knowledge to help people like you unlock new levels of performance, resilience, and purpose.

 

My journey isn’t just about reps and data points; it’s about finding meaning in every step we take. I believe in blending cutting-edge science with a heart-centered approach to guide my clients toward something much bigger than fitness—toward balance, adventure, and a deeper connection to who they really are.

 

As a former athlete and now an avid mountain biker, I know firsthand how important it is to be physically strong and mentally sharp. But I also know that our best performances come from within—from the way we approach challenges, the stories we tell ourselves, and the balance we create between work, family, and the things we love. Whether I’m racing on a bike or chasing my 2-year-old son, I strive to live a life that prioritizes health, joy, and purpose, and I help my clients do the same.

 

Working with me means more than just personalized training plans or nutrition advice (though you’ll get plenty of that, too!). It’s about connecting with someone who truly understands the demands of a busy life—whether you're a high-performing executive, a new parent, or someone who simply wants to feel stronger and more alive. My goal is to empower you to thrive—on race day and in everyday life. With my background in science and my focus on human connection, I’ll help you achieve more than you ever thought possible while enjoying every step of the journey.

My Story

Shaping my Dream

My path began on soccer fields, basketball courts, and mountain bike trails. As a young athlete, I wasn't just fascinated by how to move faster or get stronger – I wanted to understand the 'why' behind it all. This curiosity led me down a winding road of discovery, from studying biochemistry and physiology to diving deep into the worlds of yoga, psychology, and neuroscience.

 

Along the way, I've worn many hats: a PhD physiologist, a wellness program director for the National Institutes of Health, a CrossFit instructor, and a yoga teacher. Each role has added a new dimension to my understanding of human performance and well-being.
